After a massive release of energy called "The Event Horizon" devastates downtown San Antonio and kills thousands, a new race of powered humans called "The Phases" emerges from the rubble. Years of terror follow as rogue Phase users misuse their abilities, but order is eventually restored by a faction of Phases known as the Sentinels.
