George could very easily just have a very nice life with his sister if he was to clean up and trying to actually right his wrongs. but instead when he is met with the truth he tries to defend himself instead of actually fixing the root of the issue. irrelevy shows a lack of remorse for what he did. he killed his parents in a reckless drunk driving accident and still refers to it as an accident instead of being sober-minded and expressing that he basically murdered them. Valerie goes on to have this big speech about being there for Darcy and in the end George still reaffirms that the drugs and the alcohol are more important than anything else in his life. he wants to have a nice life but he also doesn't want to give up the thing that's preventing him from having that nice life.

I wonder what other things you going through Dave's mind right now since that's the first time anybody has ever stood up to him. Darcy is very tall too so I imagine that it instilled a lot of fear in Dave that he is being towered over by a very angry dude. For a moment there his disillusion had been broken for a moment by the sobering reality that somebody might beat the crap out of him. it also really shows how little he thinks of Monroe. Monroe has stood up to him in the past and he just kind of shrugged it off, but when a man stands up to him, he gets really scared.

I'm so sick and tired of people whether real or in a story saying that they're drunkenness was an excuse for their accident so they're sloppiness. really I don't understand how anybody could feel like that would be a justification for their actions. Dave is a very stupid person. Dave's delusion makes me physically sick to my stomach it's almost like a radioactive energy comes off of his character. the intrusive thoughts really pop in my head every time I see his character on screen he doesn't elicit any confidence that I wouldn't commit a crime if I saw him in real life.

honestly I know Darcy doesn't want to leave but this sabbatical in another country it's probably going to do him a lot of good because it'll finally give him a chance to avoid his parents and the destructive influence of his brother long enough to get his ducks in a row. I know it's a terrible thing to have to leave home even if it's a very terrible place to live you know because that's all you're familiar with but honestly this could be a real make or break moment for Darcy's character. I also want to point out that Darcy, George and Val's parents, for all the things they are, will that be abusive and neglectful and rude and judgmental and all those things, are also on top of all things cowards. and I mean that they experience and show true cowardice and I mean that sincerely when I say this because of the very fact that they probably forced to Darcy to frame it as him needing a break instead of them deciding to send him on sabbatical which if you ask me if they truly believed in their own system if they truly believe they were right if they truly believe that what they're doing was either better for their image or justifiable then they should have been able to swallow the hard pill of explaining to George and Val that it was their decision but instead they chose a cowardice of hiding behind their son and making him not only leave but make him the scapegoat too much of his brothers frustration and anger.

Valerie really underestimates how awful their parents could be by keeping her in the dark for 30 years. I'm a little surprised you wouldn't even think that they would do that given the fact that they only ever seem to care about their image. even though I took him 51 years at least Darcy can know now that he doesn't have to be perfect to be loved by anybody but it really is the truth that Valerie carried the old ways of her parents with her so I can imagine he could never feel truly safe to explain himself or discuss anything of practically any value with Valerie. I feel sorry for the fact that he had to go through that, they all did. but Darcy given from the new comic at least seems to have gotten it the worst than anybody. there's so many things that Valerie wants to know but at the same time since she was carrying the old ways there was no true way for her to even have opened up or have Dorothy open up to her because she was just a spitting image of her parents collectively

dude for real? George just doesn't get it. he almost died. how did that not scare George? he almost gave to bury him. that would definitely be a wake up call for me .

Laylabelle97

that would explain why Darcy gets sober, he’s been given a second chance and he wants to do things differently cus that scared the hell out of him. but it’s sad to have the one person who stands up for him be going down the path of self destruction he desperately wants to avoid

I love to see Hannah get her shit together and get out of there. I love to see Dave in pain. he deserves constant pain and loneliness for the things he's done to the women in his life. I don't even know what he meant when he asked Hannah what she was going to do without him. like how weak was that threat. it meant nothing. yeah he's a trust fund kid but Hannah pays for everything. if anything, she's more capable and in the position to move than he will ever be.

I can imagine that was scary for both of them. for Monroe to see how far Dave has pushed Hannah. for Hannah to not only see how far she went for Dave but to break from the gaslighting and realize how much you've been used.

im glad they were able to reconcile and return to the status quo of being a good couple. I very much dislike Monroe's dad. it was a good idea that Darcy and Monroe are staying at Darcy's for a while. with the door being unlocked like it usually is, Dave really could be inside waiting for her. it is scary to thing he could be rummaging through her stuff or messing with her food or something awful and dangerous.

the trauma doesn't just extend to Monroe but it also affects Darcy. it must have deeply impacted both of them. I can't believe her dad is hating on the man that saved her life but had nothing to say towards the crime of attempted murder but Dave. what? oh he asked him a question? but had no harsh words or even punched him? weak man syndrome alert. big loser energy. he doesn't deserve to be in the room with them. he is a tiny man of no value.

I really disagree with George and I think he's incredibly wrong here. Darcy shouldn't feel responsible for how Henry takes things. I mean it's true that his decision will impact Henry of course however, I really don't think he should feel guilty for the way Henry digested it. George solidifying the guilt that Darcy has for making the decision to be honest with Henry instead of lying is not only a selfish decision on George's part but it really shows that he also disregards how Darcy feels and instead would prefer that he keep the status quo which is very their parents of him. Henry is his own person and has his own responsibility for his emotions and Darcy already has a incredible weight to carry with everybody's treatment of him so I really don't think he needs to add Henry's. he even show that he cared by willing to talk to Henry about what's going on instead of just icing him out.

he looked like such a petulant child pushing her with his eyes closed squeezed shut as he pushed her in the road. that's the kind of face a kid makes me throwing a temper tantrum and it's ridiculous. I mean when he comes to he says oh it was an accident, bro that was not an accident I was a choice. his affluenza really is insulating him for any kind of realization that his actions have consequences. I think they should push him in front of a car next.

they both have a reason to be angry it's a very deep misunderstanding on both their parts and it was just a miscommunication that snowballed into a very unmanageable thing. although I do feel that Monroe really stepped over the line and that below the belt hit about whose fault it is, that's not just a passing comment that you make a mistake and go oops I'm sorry that is a severely egregious comment because it not only is pointing the finger at something that is uncalled for to bring up but at the same time it also basically echoes the very thing that Darcy holds on to very deeply and I think ultimately makes him feel a very deep pain. you know he reacted better by grabbing on to her and kissing her but ultimately I think Monroe truly overstepped the boundary there.

lennonade1964

lennonade1964 4 months ago

@lennonade1964: after closer examination, I realized that really Darcy didn't really have something to be angry about. his unwillingness to accept her help catapulted their relationship into turmoil. Monroe was hurting and hurt herself further more kissing Dave. Darcy was being antagonistic.

Drunk Henry is violent. he really just needs to understand that Darcy cares for him but doesn't love him. I know it sucks but him forcing himself into Darcy's life is not a good idea.

oh here we go! Dave at again not doing us a favor by just being dead or something. he was really beating her down to get her to come back to him but he really screwed up by saying he forgives her. she has grown away from him enough to not fall for his abuse. oooooh she full first named him. that triggered his mommy issues big time. you know it did. she is really standing up to him and that is good to see. him threatening her is really weak. I don't believe he could do anything. he's very soft hands never work a day is his life weak. I doubt he would be capable of anything.

@lennonade1964: it's good to see the Darla is showing concern. I also like that that means Darcy and Darla are going to start getting along. I really like the fact that Darla came to the Epiphany that she once loved Darcy. I really can't believe that after they had that meet cute once again the exact same way they met, that Darcy decides to go "I'm going to go wash it off" instead of trying to salvage it. Monroe really salvages it by saying they should talk but in the end he says it's hopeless in his head because he realizes that he thinks it's hopeless but he's only making a hopeless because he keeps shutting her out even when he realized he wanted to talk to her.

George is so sloppy. they were doing fine keeping the party out of the house and then George had to pop the bubble because he isn't capable of control. you know Darcy wasn't afraid to spill the beans because he deals with that crap all the time. it's night and day between George and Darcy. they only cared for Georges future but worried about darcy ruining their image. George certainly doesn't act like an adult. an adult would have kept that shit out of the house at least. I don't know if I agree with George about Darcy lying. it would have been convenient but the fallout would have probably been worse later down the road. he did end the wolrd by telling the truth.

Darcy really did so it to himself. he preached and preached about doing things the right way and told Monroe how much she could lean on him and when he was down for the count he went back on everything he said. he was a fools. act that way with Monroe. George asked for him not to be mad and then admitted to something that would obviously piss Darcy off. George is so irritating. I really can't stand him. he thinks he's so cool but he probably just smells like alcohol, piss and a lack of deodorant.
