Re: What part of drawing in general do you think is the hardest?
Aside from hands? :D

I definitely have problems with coming up with character design, most of my characters either wear uniforms or clothes I own. That's how far my imagination goes.

I think I would struggle whole loads with environments/backgrounds but after doing one hand drawn bg scene when I started - I decided I needed to learn 3D to be able to consistently draw backgrounds. I looked at some of artists I like the style of, ie. Inio Asano, on how they integrate 3D backgrounds pretty seamlessly into their work - and now I highly recommend learning 3D. It's such a time saver.

Re: Favorite Character
Haha, totally understand the simple to draw character appeal.

My favourite character from my comic (https://globalcomix.com/c/effluent) is the detective protagonist. I find him extremely funny to write in the same way watching a train crash in slow motion would be entertaining. I hate drawing him since I'm not that great with his face shape but it's too late to change.

Re: What does "ultimate success" mean to you?
I think if people had fun and got interested in AI/machine learning concepts by reading my comic, it would be very rewarding.

I already worked as an illustrator/graphic designer for a decade so I'm not sure I'd like to make my hobby into a job as well. That sounds as an opposite of relaxing if there were hard deadlines. I also am much more interested to continue what I do right now which is making robots and AI so I hope to stay in this field and keep drawing the comic when I'm just too tired to look at the code.
