Re: question for creators: how do you usually plan your comics?
Would you believe me If I say i didn't write a script before my comic? Because that's how I do it and it also explains why I have done so much exposition dump, lore, and world-building on my comic before meeting the main protagonist. I have so much idea on my head that I already know where the story is going. I just want to make sure I didn't break any established ground rules, put myself into a corner, ass pull, plot-holes, and mary sue moments.

Right now, I am planning a second sci-fi comic still related to my first fantasy comic and I am making sure that such lore, world-building, and exposition dump only appears among the characters discovering it to make it short and brief. I learned my lesson that readers are more interested with characters than Lore. they only read the lore right after they are interested on the content.

Re: entertainment vs world building
From my experience, I have made such mistakes for world-building because viewers would rather let world-building be explored piece by piece by the character's perspective over "once upon a time from this or that". Best you let the character talk or discover little about it. Enough for the readers to understand and move on to the main story.

Re: The REAL Reason Superhero Movies Don't Work Long Term
Let's not forget how many times they rebooted superhero movies like Batman and Superman, even giving the franchise to directors with different story-telling directions. We see this hot mess a lot in DC movies.

As for Marvel movies/series, I don't know what to make of it. So many flops in 2023 save for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 03.

Honestly, I hope Hollywood goes back to comedy movies and sci-fi horrors. I miss the good old times.

Re: What are you working on?
I have finished the prologue of Mukhtar and I am currently making pages for the 1st chapter. I am also planning a second comic based on Sci-Fi and I am planning to publish it by early 2025.

Re: Introduce Your Comic and You! (Old Thread)
Hello there!

I'm Faisal Hussein, I am currently updating my comic called "Mukhtar". A fantasy with Arabian culture, mythology, inspired historical events, and original contents.

My comic is inspired by George R.R.Martin, J.R.R.Tolkien, Yasuhisa Hara, histories dating back from bronze age all the way to napoleonic age, and mythologies.

If you're interested, here is the link: https://globalcomix.com/c/mukhtar/chapters/en/1/1

I have already update a lot of pages on Tapas, and I am spreading it to other website art/comic such as Comicfury, Deviant art, and now Globalcomix.

However, "Mukhtar" won't be my only comic. I am planning a second comic based on Sci-Fi but related to my fantasy comic but in different timeline and position, and I'm planning on publishing it by early 2025.

So yeah, hopefully that's enough time to at least finish a cover, prologue, and 20 pages for the first chapter.

Looking forward to Globalcomix.
