[Profit Share] Writer Seeking Manga Artist for Supernatural/Action/Horror Manga

Description

The General Concept: A young man can see ghosts, is recruited into a government agency for necromancers and, through his work there, comes to realize that the ghosts everyone has decided to exorcise, subjugate, or seal actually have a lot to teach him about life, death, identity, and the living.

Genre: Supernatural / Action / Horror. This would probably be closer to a seinen than a shonen, but it will have shonen elements.

What I'm Looking For: Someone who feels comfortable with a traditional manga style: black-and-white with the bulk of the action depicted through perspective and shading decisions. There will probably be a couple of full-color pages or character sheets here and there, but an unwillingness or inability to color won't be disqualifying. As far as art style is concerned, I'm open to different types of art styles, though the one closest to my vision can probably be likened to The Mage Next Door. The most critical element, for me, is that someone be able to draw ghosts in a truly grotesque and disturbing manner to visually convey the horror inherent in necromancy.

Production Schedule: I am looking for someone who can produce one (1) page/week, including feedback. This schedule is flexible and can be adjusted based on the difficulty of the page(s) you are working on at the time, as well as any personal or professional obligations you may have.

The Business Model: This will begin as an unpaid project. Initial chapters will be advertised online on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Full chapters will be posted on Patreon. You will be entitled to an exact 50/50 split of any profit generated through these avenues. Before production begins, we will agree upon a per-page rate. If the project has not generated profit after the first ten (10) completed pages, that rate will take effect moving forward, and you will receive backpay for the first ten pages at the same rate.
Once enough pages/chapters are produced to complete a full volume (5-6 chapters, ~100-120 pages), I will begin submitting to/querying publishers in both Japan and the U.S. Whether the project proceeds to publication or remains on social media, you will retain a 50/50 profit split. There will be a contract, so you won't have to worry about me trying to short you or undersell your contribution to the story.
