Animals are scarce, the land is unfertile and people are dying. In a world that's cosuming all the life on it, rotting from the ground up, a kid discovers he has the power to give some of it back. The catch is, whatever life he gives, he has to take it from something or... someone else, and he'd rather cut his hand than hurt anyone.
He has a lot less respect for them than he probably should, living his whole life in a mining town has desensitized him (I had to google how to spell that word </3)
