Follow Onwanuju; the occult detective with a full blue moon in her eyes, and Odi Maria; her adventurous Best friend as they investigate the mysterious cases that plague their city.
After wrapping up the case in Aba, the duo retreats to the relative calm of Enugu, only to find themselves haunted once again, this time wearing an all too familiar face. Meanwhile, back in Aba, a new threat emerges: as an enemy with burning eyes, lays siege to Mama Uzor’s headquarters.
From the start to the finish, I love this masterpiece. It's a tremendous work of art; starting from the fact that we all have lost what it means to have a beautiful life as we turmoil week after week, to the transition of the young girl and her obsessive eating disorder which was overlooked by her mom. Then the idea of evil handing the woman the baby and she swallows it which is ironic as this singular behavior defines what occurs throughout the young girl's life; eating. And then the twist from eating food caused by pregnancy cravings to the lady's craving for pregnancy which caused her to swallow the child in the first place.
Fast track to the first kill in this episode, I can say that no one expected it. I mean, the girls were just being nice, one would think a crush was involved and we were (I was at least) secretely expecting romance only to see a severed head. Now I'm panicking and I turn to the next page to see he has dismembered the second lady, tragic. With this, all hopes of romance or love in this episode was destroyed as baba just came in and choose violence, which I feel is because he's impatient. Then, the heavenly poem... Angels are supposed to look beautiful, right? Or am I mistaken because the poem sure paints a graphic picture and if you let this image pan out, you'd be terrified. Well, I guess beauty is scary (I'm sure all the guys scared of pretty ladies would agree to this).
Then the second death, at this point, I believe the writer likes dashing our hopes. Like one minute, I'm happy the Moon lady knows a spell to dampen the powers within the pregnant woman, I'm excited. Then, I open the second page and all hope is gone as I see a floating bloody ... You know the rest. That's so unfair. I can only say, at this point, I want more and if by some magic, let the lady survive so she can stay with her children but I don't think the story will go that way. It's dark.
I can't wait for the next episode. From the graphics, to the lettering, to the story telling, to the presentation, suspense and danger lurking behind pages, I must say I'm entertained. Keep up the good work, The Machine.
