It's Lonely At The Centre Of The Earth
Cartoonist ZOE THOROGOOD records six months of her own life as it falls apart in a desperate attempt to put it back together again in the only way she knows how. IT'S LONELY AT THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH is an intimate metanarrative that looks into the life of a selfish artist who must create for her own survival.
A poignant, slice-of-life-style story perfect for fans of Adrian Tomine's The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Cartoonist.

This is one of the best autobio comics I've ever read. The art is honestly SUBLIME. It's a real powerful portrayal of depression and struggles with mental health. I love that it was honest in its storytelling, and that while we do get a pretty satisfying conclusion, it followed real life in that it didn't have a "third act". Life just goes on without a specific order, and we just experience it. I'm an instant Zoe Thorogood fan and from now on I'll just read ANYTHING she puts out. Can't wait for her Hack/Slash book!

I seem to be one of the few people who don't relate to this book. Despite having suffered from depression for several years after a serious head injury I couldn't connect with Zoe's story. Her artwork and honesty are to be admired but frankly the story just left me hoping she's OK :/
