Think of a medieval, fantastical world, inhabited by animal humanoids. There, adventurers are highly valued for their ability to solve situations without any help from the king. But Gustavus the king declares that the practice of adventuring is now illegal...and the lives of adventurers are thrown into turmoil...
Nicely done with the juxtaposed thoughts on either side as he weighs his experiences. Hoping he gets moving quickly to try to catch up. After all, he knows which direction they’re heading in. Perhaps a little bit of redemption is on the horizon. Also, we wonder what has made Aya such a loner. It does seem a bit forced; as if she wants to be friends and would like company, but just can’t let her guard down for that to happen. Maybe we will get her backstory, too.
