Release #37 - Blood In The Water

The tournament leader is left shaken after sensing a mysterious hooded figure whose energy feels identical to Daunte’s. Before answers can be found, Daunte emerges from the resting room fully conscious and ready to fight, bluntly asking who he’s killing next. Daunte enters the arena and is confronted by Greg, a water-wielding fighter enraged over Midas’s death. Consumed by grief and fear, Greg attacks immediately, launching Daunte into battle. Though knocked down at first, Daunte rises and activates SSD1, engaging Greg in brutal close-quarters combat as boiling water crashes against him. Greg escalates his attacks, scalding Daunte’s body with pressurized water, but Daunte advances through the pain without flinching. Even a massive water fist barely slows him. Desperate, Greg unleashes his wildcard move, Water Bullet, piercing straight through Daunte’s chest. For the first time, Daunte is genuinely injured—yet he smiles, acknowledging the hit. Using the blood from Daunte’s wound, Greg attempts a deadly follow-up, but Daunte activates SSD2, moving faster than Greg can react. In a single blur of motion, Daunte appears behind him and delivers a fatal blow straight through Greg’s chest. As Greg collapses and bleeds out, Daunte coldly admits he would have spared him if this weren’t a tournament. Greg dies, his blood soaking the battlefield. Elsewhere, the tournament leader confronts the hooded figure, demanding answers. The figure responds with chilling familiarity: “Shut up… don’t make me kill you again.”
