Episode 1
The Gospel According to Mark: Chapter I
John the Baptist prepares the way for Jesus, who is baptized in the Jordan and affirmed by God. After being tempted in the wilderness, Jesus begins preaching in Galilee. He calls Simon, Andrew, James, and John to leave their nets and follow him. In Capernaum, Jesus teaches with authority, casts out demons, and heals the sick, including a leper. Despite seeking solitude to pray, his fame spreads rapidly, forcing him to stay in desert places as crowds flock to him from every quarter.
Episode 2
The Gospel According to Mark: Chapter II
Jesus heals a paralyzed man lowered through a roof, proving He has authority to forgive sins. He calls Levi, a tax collector, to follow Him and eats with sinners, declaring He came to call the sick, not the righteous. When questioned about fasting, Jesus describes Himself as the bridegroom and His teaching as new wine. He defends His disciples for plucking grain on the Sabbath, proclaiming that the Sabbath was made for man and that the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.
Episode 3
The Gospel According to Mark: Chapter III
Jesus heals a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath, grieving the Pharisees who plot His death. Multitudes follow Him, and He heals many. He appoints the Twelve Apostles—including Peter, the Sons of Thunder, and Judas—to preach and cast out demons. Scribes accuse Him of using Satan's power, but Jesus counters that a divided kingdom falls and warns of the unforgivable sin. When His family seeks Him, He declares that His true mother and brothers are whoever does the will of God.
Episode 4
The Gospel According to Mark: Chapter IV
Jesus teaches by the sea using parables. In the Parable of the Sower, He explains how the Word is received: snatched by Satan, choked by worldly cares, or bearing fruit in good soil. He compares the Kingdom to a lamp, secret growth, and a mustard seed. Crossing the sea, a fierce storm strikes while Jesus sleeps. Woken by fearful disciples, He rebukes the wind and sea, saying, "Peace, be still." The calm waters leave them terrified, asking, "What manner of man is this?"
Episode 5
The Gospel According to Mark: Chapter V
In the land of the Gadarenes, Jesus frees a wild man from a Legion of demons, sending them into a herd of pigs that drown in the sea. Returning across the water, He is stopped by a woman bleeding for 12 years; she touches His robe and is healed by faith. Meanwhile, the daughter of Jairus, a synagogue leader, dies. Jesus ignores the mourners, enters the room, and raises the 12-year-old girl to life with the words "Talitha cumi," astounding her parents.
Episode 6
The Gospel According to Mark: Chapter VI
Rejected in His hometown of Nazareth, Jesus sends the Twelve out to preach and heal. Meanwhile, Herod fears Jesus is the risen John the Baptist, whom he beheaded at the request of Herodias’ daughter. Later, moved by compassion for the crowds, Jesus feeds 5,000 men with just five loaves and two fish. He then walks on water to His struggling disciples during a storm, calming the wind. In Gennesaret, multitudes gather, and all who touch the hem of His garment are made whole.
Episode 7
The Gospel According to Mark: Chapter VII
Pharisees criticize the disciples for eating with unwashed hands. Jesus rebukes them for elevating human tradition above God's commandments. He teaches that true defilement comes from the evil within the human heart, not from food. In Tyre, a Gentile woman’s humble faith moves Him to heal her daughter. Later, in Decapolis, Jesus heals a deaf and mute man, sighing "Ephphatha" ("Be opened"). The astonished crowds declare, "He hath done all things well."
