Anthony D'Orazio possesses powerful ice abilities, but his greatest battle is forgiving himself. Haunted by guilt and shame from his past, he's trying to move forward. Cole Matthews can transform into a massive rock monster with incredible strength. Behind his intimidating appearance is someone overcoming the trauma of his upbringing and fighting to become something better. The fifth member of the team will be revealed in Issue #2! These aren't perfect superheroes. They're people. They have baggage, make mistakes, and struggle with grief, guilt, fear, insecurity, and the weight of becoming something the world doesn't understand. In this universe, mysterious alien energy crystals have grown deep within Earth for thousands of years. Contact with one can instantly alter a person's DNA, granting extraordinary abilities. But having powers doesn't mean you're accepted. As these strangers save lives across Manhattan, they discover many New Yorkers don't see them as heroes. They see them as different. Now they must learn to work together, confront their pasts, and discover what it truly means to be superheroes. Because before they're superheroes, they're human beings.
