While exploring an old abandoned house, Catie finds something strange. A cursed VHS tape that traps their soul inside an old children's cartoon. Now living their life as a cartoon cat, will Catie be able to escape this strange place filled with allure and lies, or will they end up staying in this fantastical new world even if that means forfeiting both their memories and identity?
Od-Dog has the shine in his eyes (pg13), so he remembers something! But he wears sunglasses for the whole dance, so how long was he really lucid for? And what triggered it in the first place? Also, he tells Catie not to drop him at the start of the dance, but Catie drops him at the end anyway... 💀 That's why the shine disappears from his eyes and his true self is gone again.

Sorry to say, but IMO that chapter (and the whole 'GameShow' thingie in general) was one of the most boring filler I can imagine (just my personal opinion, but my opinion nonetheless). No new clues or insights whatsoever, just many more new questions (of which none are addressed) and illogical plot points...
Basically, what any logical thinking person would have immediately asked (either mother or any of the other children) AND demanded answers: where did the audience come from and go in an instant, where did the stage equipment come from and go in an instant? And how were the children (including Catie!) able to pull equipment like dance clothing out of thin air? With such ability, the need to 'win' flashlights or be given weapons would have never been necessary (when the children fought Od-Dog 2.0 in chapter 1, they also presented quite a set of weapons they didn't carry in the previous panels)...
An interesting point might be how Od-Dog seemed to have re-gained his memory for a short while (it was explicitely emphasised, so it's not a 'drawing mistake')... maybe you can't only regain your memory by remembering your name, but also by experiencing certain events (from your RL past or whatever)...
Od-Dog looked so happy after Catie caught him... alas it didn't last long.
Why Catie picked Od-Dog 2.0 as a prize to not cause suspicion... it's a stupid plot point. If that always was her plan, she could just have given up; the chance that Foxtrot would pick the flashlights as a prize was close to zero.
But ok, done is done, and next time we will finally see some real action, won't we? Stick that knife into the Doorman, and to be sure it won't get stuck, turn it around a bit.

It's like the beach ball hunt from "Dark Star", something that feels (and probably was) only added to stretch the story to the minimum required (movie) length.

@Auora44: Yeah, the shine in their eyes means they remember who they were in the real world. If they don't have it, they don't remember. Empathetic Elephant likely has his name written down, and he's the one who told Curious Cat to write hers on her bedroom ceiling.
If you look at od-dog where he takes off his glasses after the dance sequence, you can see the little light that Curious Cat and Empathetic Elephant usually has.
Man, i ask myself if people won't start shipping characters in this fandom, every fandom there's an shipper, and i am thinking this fandom won't be any different.....I am 100% sure there's already someone who "ships" Od-Dog with Catie/Curious Cat, cuz my God you enter and Fandom, and there's already hundreds of ships, i hope at least this fandom had/have less
I already seen it, yesterday, but I really love this chapter a lot and I got a theory: they were always these animals characters, mother probably has powers outside the television to lure them in, erasing their memories makes them think they were humans, but they are not. It explained od-dog case with his story

But I wonder why Catie asks permission to skip dinner. Od-Dog locked himself up in his room for weeks after realizing he was 'too late' to escape, and nobody seems to have bothered, not even mother checked on him then.
Also, as it seems Posh Pine got his golden watch back before the price picking... a drawing mistake?
And if a hit on the head can erase re-gained memory, maybe it's worth trying the other way around too... "Did gou get the metal frying pan from the kitchen? Gimme!"

Probably not. Od-Dog was already 'too late' with his escape, and spent weeks afterward locking himself in his room. So if Catie was a 'friend' looking for him, she is very slow to take action.
Unless time within the video runs differently (not counting the commercials).

Probably not. Od-Dog was already 'too late' with his escape, and spent weeks afterward locking himself in his room. So if Catie was a 'friend' looking for him, she is very slow to take action.
Unless time within the video runs differently (not counting the commercials).
