While exploring an old abandoned house, Catie finds something strange. A cursed VHS tape that traps their soul inside an old children's cartoon. Now living their life as a cartoon cat, will Catie be able to escape this strange place filled with allure and lies, or will they end up staying in this fantastical new world even if that means forfeiting both their memories and identity?
I feel like od-dog knows something since he knows empathetic elephant well and is not worried about catie aka curious cat trying to escape but it just a feeling...... as he also knows about the nightmares as well

Ooooh theorizing time! To begin, did anyone else notice in the end shot with Emp and Od-dog that Od-dog has digits on his paws curled? He seems upset, or determined. The low angle shot to me seems to put Od-dog at a high position to intimidate, as it makes it seem that Empathetic elephant has to look upward to face Od-dog. The background colours also contrast a beige sandy colour on the walls against a red chair and red fuzzy carpet, that may or may not be a way of symbolizing any tension between the two? Anyone else have thoughts on this?

@MeirFenix: It is also interesting that Curious Cat can dream of their body staring at a static TV screen when asleep, showing Katie's body and their own self awareness that they're stuck staring at a TV screen. I don't think we were officially shown them knowing of themselves being stuck to a TV screen previously.
@MeirFenix: It's interesting that they're all so chill with the fact that the wall is just broken now. Also, where did the boarded up door go? Is this just me, is does it disappear in the daytime?
@MeirFenix: I'm certain the door disappeared, because I don't think they changed hallways in the last scene with Posh Pine, Shy Shark, and Curious Cat, and the layout of the map in Chapter 2 would show that the boarded should be there, so mother only choosing to guard the door at night is quite interesting, because should be preventing any chance whatsoever for the door being opened.
@MeirFenix: I also find it interesting that Od-dog is on the side of the cracked wall when mother acts as a divide between Od-dog and Katie at the beginning, symbolizing Od-dogs crushed spirit versus Katie who has yet to be affected by mother. Od-dogs feet slide ever so slightly closer to mother, in the previous seen, and he also stands slightly closer to mother not even fearing her as Katie shrinks away from her. Mother's hands also seem a little odd to me, because her hands are not at an 'at ease' position behind her back, and show a slight amount of tension( I think) by gripping her wrist.
@Vito-Di-Wolf: I would think that may be design choice, considering that they're kickstarter characters. Unless Skynix has already found a way to incorporate that to the whole plot of TBH.... Wait a minute, how strong is mighty Mule if he beat Shy Shark AND empathetic elephant in the arm wrestling challenge???? Or is Posh Pine just really weak? I MUST have an answer to this inquirryyyyyy!( fades into the distance and disappears into a random unrelated television series on accident.)
@Vito-Di-Wolf: I also noticed that when I was searching for a shine (small white dots) in their eyes, which means they remember their name and identity. Only Curious Cat and Empathetic Elephant have it. I wonder if this will relate to Shy Shark's eye difference.
@Marche13: who knows since he knows alot about the nightmares as we are not that far into the story yet so I really ain't sure if he tried planning an escape plan cause from how I'm seeing it their souls are like stuck in the makeshift world cause from the image where you can see catie struggling to move since her human body is looking at The TV as there probably not a solution on how to escape yet and empathetic elephant is smart as well since he been there prob a long time along with Od-dog as well

Also, I suppose that there is no way for us to eliminate the possibility of all the characters working together to escape the Backwards House, nor is it impossible for each of the character's to remember their names of they can find a place they wrote it that isn't scribbled out. It's possible that Empathetic Elephant could help out with that. It could even be possible that Od-Dog could remember his own name even by shining a light through the paper, because his name is written in black and the light could make it visible.
@kaiboi: Skynix has already stated on multiple streams, and an interview with Monitor on YouTube, what the inspirations of TBH was. He included Poppy Playtime, Omori, Promised Netherlands(I think), and TADC( Maybe, somebody check me on that) as the main inspirations of TBH, so it makes sense if the ideas seem similar.
@Gary2012: I didn't think about that. Honestly, I don't think I have theorized about Mother a whole lot. But then that begs the questions: How do all the nightmares get made? Is there more than one way? Is Mother based off the fear of a mother's children dying or leaving, and that's why she protects the children( if she was a maker, did she program herself into the tape like this)? Would this then mean that the other nightmares are based off other fears, such as the fear of the jester, the one who makes a fool of everyone else? The possibilities seem endless so far!

Hmm...so Od-Dog might still remember who he is and is just playing a role. I suspect that he or the Elephant were first to be trapped. The last comic we saw that he scratched out his own name since it wouldn't make sense for the others to do it instead of just taking the whole journal and getting rid of it, so I believe that he might be wanting to forget, but is not able to forget. The Elephant seems to have a bad relationship with the mother and Od-Dog, so could he possibly be up to something that both of them don't agree with? Also it seems that Od-Dog knows a lot about the realm due to his sketches in his journal. He might also cut between remembering who he is and forgetting since his drawings were pretty serious and then it just cuts to child like doodles, so he could have some split personality traits. Maybe that is why he is considered odd. This is complexing, but I'm here for it.
@Strawbeary: I have a theory that him or the Elephant were the first to be trapped. I also think that Od-Dog knows who he is, but wants to forget, but for some reason he can't.
@Bionic-pioson13: Hey, I loved that hey influence the people who contributed but they’re essentially trying to insert characters from the overall plot. Presumably, those characters would appear later, with their absence explained by circumstances such as being trapped or acting out of fear like ts.

This chapter was fantastic! I loved how their were new characters introduced into the plot. This makes the story a hole lot more interesting in my opinion.

@Gary2012: I didn't think about that. Honestly, I don't think I have theorized about Mother a whole lot. But then that begs the questions: How do all the nightmares get made? Is there more than one way? Is Mother based off the fear of a mother's children dying or leaving, and that's why she protects the children( if she was a maker, did she program herself into the tape like this)? Would this then mean that the other nightmares are based off other fears, such as the fear of the jester, the one who makes a fool of everyone else? The possibilities seem endless so far!

Hmm...so Od-Dog might still remember who he is and is just playing a role. I suspect that he or the Elephant were first to be trapped. The last comic we saw that he scratched out his own name since it wouldn't make sense for the others to do it instead of just taking the whole journal and getting rid of it, so I believe that he might be wanting to forget, but is not able to forget. The Elephant seems to have a bad relationship with the mother and Od-Dog, so could he possibly be up to something that both of them don't agree with? Also it seems that Od-Dog knows a lot about the realm due to his sketches in his journal. He might also cut between remembering who he is and forgetting since his drawings were pretty serious and then it just cuts to child like doodles, so he could have some split personality traits. Maybe that is why he is considered odd. This is complexing, but I'm here for it.

@Bionic-pioson13: Hey, I loved that hey influence the people who contributed but they’re essentially trying to insert characters from the overall plot. Presumably, those characters would appear later, with their absence explained by circumstances such as being trapped or acting out of fear like ts.
