When their village is destroyed, Mihku and their sibling Mud find themselves at odds on what to do next. Without a home to go to and caught in the crossfire of a decades long feud, they're left with two options to choose from - heal and rebuild or fester and avenge. Will they ever get their answers, or will they forever be lost in the shadows of tragedy?
I found the use of the environment really powerful this chapter. I kept thinking a lot about the island as a location during the last scene, it's so beautiful and peaceful but also isolating in ways that are hard to put into words! I loved Tae and Mihku's exchange at the end. Tae clearly struggles so hard with what to say in these kinda situations. I guess there isn't really anything to say, but she still is doing all that she can to be comforting to Mihku. It's a really lovely moment but also man it's a lot 😔
@pbox YEAH, i really wanted to capture like just how big this island is and despite the beauty of it - it's still such a lonely place. i feel like in a twisted little way, everyone on the island really just has the best intentions. they want mihku to be safe and okay, just as much as they want one another to - but it all just sort of feeds into this cycle of sticking their heads in the sand and refusing to truly acknowledge their hurt. mihku is there to challenge that.

I liked your storytelling. that panel of angry internal monologue text was effective. Your landscapes this section were great.
