Tharin Maung: The Sunscarred Brawler

In the rain-soaked underground fight circuit of Yangon, skilled Lethwei fighter Tharin Maung is ordered to lose a rigged match. Refusing to surrender his dignity, Tharin defeats Bo Hlaing and enrages crime boss Ko Zaw Khet, who controls the fighters through violence, debt, and fear. Elsewhere beneath the arena, an unstable Helios Meridian experiment known as the Solar Lattice begins to fail. When Ko forces the injured Bo into another fight and the facility erupts into chaos, medic Mya attempts to help the trapped fighters escape. The Solar Lattice ruptures, bonding with Tharin and transforming the scars across his chest into a source of intense solar power. Struggling to control the fire surging through his body, Tharin remembers his mentor U Min Hett’s teachings and gives the energy purpose. He defeats Ko’s armed guards with his first powered technique, the Blazing Elbow. Although Ko escapes, Tharin abandons revenge to rescue the civilians and fighters trapped inside the collapsing depot. At dawn, the survivors finally walk free. Tharin vows to use his new power to fight for those who cannot escape on their own. But Helios Meridian has detected the bond—and now the corporation is coming to reclaim its living weapon.
