Suzanne was diagnosed with Selective Mutism as a child because she didn't begin speaking until she was around 5 years old. While she no longer has the diagnosis I feel that's something that still sticks with you as you get older. This is based a lot on me in real life. Often times when I'm stressed or in pain it feels like I lose the ability to speak temporarily.
