Sunita Superstar

Sunita Superstar is a warm, playful graphic-novel comedy about an ordinary married woman who unexpectedly discovers a new world of dance, fashion, cosplay, social media and self-expression. Sunita spends much of her time alone because her husband, Dr. Anirban Sen, works at a rural hospital in West Bengal and returns home only a few times a year. What begins as simple boredom gradually becomes curiosity: she experiments with makeup, hairstyles, fashion, dancing and photography, eventually recording her first dance reel and posting it online. To her surprise, strangers begin watching, liking and commenting on her videos. Encouraged by the attention, Sunita becomes increasingly adventurous with her content, discovering cosplay and developing a playful on-camera personality that is very different from her quiet everyday routine. As her confidence grows, Sunita begins exploring the possibilities of becoming a creator. Her journey eventually takes her from casual dance reels and photographs to cosplay, livestreaming, fashion content and an expanding online audience. At the same time, her life outside the camera provides plenty of comedy. Neighbours begin noticing her changing personality, while the Flat Owners' Association president, Prabir Chatterjee, develops an obvious fascination with her. Sunita is fully aware of his interest and often responds with her characteristic wit and teasing humour. The series combines romantic comedy, slice-of-life humour, neighbourhood antics and social-media culture, while following Sunita's gradual transformation from a bored housewife into a confident creator who discovers that there is much more to her personality than she ever realized.
