On the remote Federation outpost of Green Hallow, a diplomatic gala turns tragic when Admiral Jace's estranged daughter is found murdered—and Captain Jean-Luc Picard is the prime suspect. With forensic evidence seemingly irrefutable, Picard is detained, threatening a fragile peace treaty.
