SEMPER FORTESS

An unlikely gladiator joins the contest. How will they do. Based on my 100 word story: The stench of brutality stained the air. It was Pax’s first. Losing was expected. However, one dismemberment followed another, bloodying faces and tipping the scales. Only five gladiators remained. Yara’s stature shrank to that of a child. A boulder in the midst of mountains. Arrows and axes bounced off armour. Three men formed an assault against the largest brute; it's their best chance. Screams before the pitter-patter of rolling heads filled the colosseum. A terrible excuse for an ambush. “What is this joke? What might I make of you, girl?” roars the brute. Pax smirked . “The goddess amongst men.”
