But when bodies begin moving again—subtle at first, then undeniably—normal stops being an option. At work, her coworker Leviticus notices something is off, but not enough to understand it. Cass keeps it quiet, handling the fear alone while trying to stay professional. During a solo transport, the impossible becomes unavoidable: the body in her van shifts on its own. This time, she can’t explain it away. When the corpse begins pressing upward beneath the sheet, Cass is forced to act. Instinct takes over. She places her hand down—and something inside her pushes back harder. For the first time, her power responds with intention. Not destruction. Control. She suppresses it. Stops it. Holds it down.
