Heaven offers enlightenment and salvation to the purehearted, whereas Hell condemns sinners to an eternity of agony. By definition, they were the two single afterlife choices - up or down, there's no in between. Apparently, this knowledge is outdated. From what Angeline observes, solace could be achieved in a place swarming with fiends and resentful spirits, where even the air reeks of death, and the soil was inundated with dread. If only she wasn't the one having to play Ghost Whisperer...
