Chapter 1 Futatsu asks his father why Power Coins have unique symbols. Before his dad can finish explaining, "Fallen" enemies attack their home. His father tells Futatsu to flee and hide, promising to return the next day. Futatsu runs through the forest until he collapses from exhaustion. He awakens by a campfire saved by Hitotsu, a top-hat-wearing Power Coin user who reveals he is Futatsu's uncle. Lastly Futatsu returns to his destroyed home searching for his father, where he discovers a mysterious Power Coin sitting on the ground. Chapter 2 The focus shifts to Hayagane, a student suffering severe emotional and physical abuse from his parents at home and relentless extortion by bullies at school. Driven to the edge of despair on the school rooftop, Hayagane encounters a strange impact that bestows upon him the Glitch Coin. The artifact awakens latent teleportation and reality-warping powers within him. Pushed past his breaking point, Hayagane unleashes his glitching abilities to overpower his main bully, who relies on a Limited Speedcoin. The chapter concludes with a shift back to Futatsu sleeping at his desk, leaving the line between these violent events. Chapter 3 After leaving school hungry and short on cash, the protagonist notices a shrouded figure following him to a convenience store and into a nearby park. In the park, the mysterious figure corners the protagonist and rambles with cynical, philosophical questions about human existence, fake kindness, and the purpose of heroes.
