EliYah, the main character is introduced, as well as his older brother who is the second main character, along with their sister and mother. EliYah wants to join the Academy that his brother belongs to seeking for fun in something he's been interested in for a while, looking up to his elder brother and cousins as well as uncles who have joined the Academy while some are already in it's organization named Skía. EliYah tells this goal to his brother and mother seeking to see if he can indeed join.
