Maazi Akpanjo

Maazi Akpanjo (an Igbo expression loosely translating to “Mr. Ugly Bag” or “Mr. Mischief Bag”) is a humorous tale about a proud, grumpy man whose peaceful existence is repeatedly disrupted by an oddly persistent and completely unbothered blue bird. For reasons Maazi cannot understand, the carefree little bird always seems to appear at the worst possible moments and meddling in his affairs and turning even the simplest situations into chaos. Maazi constantly devises increasingly ridiculous schemes to get rid of his feathered tormentor. But no matter how clever or elaborate his plans become, the unbothered bird always seems to be one step ahead, leaving Maazi to battle not just the bird, but his own growing frustrations.
