Ika’s second Grand Adventure begins with a simple assignment: travel to the stronghold of the feared Demon King Mordrake, observe his defenses, and report back. No fighting. No unnecessary detours. Naturally, things do not go according to plan. After accidentally damaging her Contact Crystal on the very first day, Ika and Speaki spend months wandering through villages, exploring suspicious caves, finding treasure, helping strangers, and sampling more food than Atlas would probably approve of. Meanwhile, the broken Crystal transmissions paint a very different picture for Mordrake. Convinced that the Grand Archive has sent an unstoppable hero capable of appearing anywhere without warning, he pours everything he has into preparing for a battle that never seems to arrive. As the weeks become months, armies withdraw, defenses grow expensive, villages begin to prosper, and Mordrake discovers that the greatest threat to his reign may not be Ika at all. Sometimes defeating a villain doesn’t require winning a battle. Sometimes it just takes a very, very long detour.
