house rules a new appetite

House Rules: The Rook Family — Issue 2: A New Appetite Six weeks after Mara Bell escaped Rook House, a missing surveyor draws four newcomers to Bellwether Moor: reporter Tess Rowan, rescue worker Malik Shaw, surveyor Evie Grant and cameraman Gareth Pike. They arrive hoping to bring someone home. Instead, they become the family’s next guests. The Rooks have evolved. More hideous, savage and hungry than before, each family member now possesses a separate heart, making the weakness that once allowed an escape useless. Inside the shifting farmhouse, the newcomers face vicious traps, monstrous transformations and a family whose appetite has outgrown its own rules. As their rescue mission becomes a desperate fight for survival, the group discovers that their blood feeds more than the creatures hunting them—it nourishes the ground beneath the house. Their only chance lies in severing that connection and reaching an underground escape route. But getting everyone out may demand an impossible sacrifice, and the hunger growing beneath Rook House may soon reach far beyond its walls.
