Belly Ache

I woke up on a Sunday morning with scary epigastric pain that came as quickly as it went. I was in the middle of the trunk anatomy unit during this time. I was studying more than I ever had in my life, even more intensely than I did during the MCAT. I abandoned almost all forms of self care: exercise, drawing, music, etc. Most people did not know how I felt that I was at rock bottom during this time. I know many of my peers felt the same, but were masking it just as I had. Thankfully, I started in-school therapy sessions and was able to push through this unit and finished M1. I am typing this today on the first day of orientation for the incoming medical students. They look so excited and happy. I remember feeling that way exactly one year ago. Please don't lose your spark or yourself. Many of you will be where my comic depicted myself last September. Keep pushing and seek help.
