Ortensia Lam lives in a post apocalyptic Louisiana where her faith is used to justify violence against others. When her own beloved cousin becomes the leader of a witch hunt, Ortensia struggles between whether the wretched should be saved or executed. Will she let fear guide her? Or will she form her path, demonizing herself from the rest of society?
