Chapter 1 — The Woman in the Snow During a brutal winter storm in rural Pennsylvania, long-haul truck driver Jack Turner spots a young woman standing alone beside a deserted road. Years earlier, on a night just like this, Jack passed a stranded woman during a blizzard and kept driving. By the time authorities searched the area, she had vanished without a trace.
