Black Shadow

A serial killer known as Red Smile is tearing through California, taunting the police with riddles and codes he dares them to solve. Detective Brian Warner and his partner, Marcus James Reed, are the two cops trying to stop him, and after years of getting nowhere, Brian launches a bold new plan: an online manhunt, turning the entire country into the hunt for Red Smile's identity. It works, but not the way Brian wanted. Red Smile retaliates by going after Brian's family, and Brian's pursuit of justice turns into something else. He becomes Black Shadow, a vigilante using methods no cop is allowed to use. To the public and the LAPD, Black Shadow is a mystery, a new player who seems to know exactly who Red Smile is and exactly how to find him. Only Marcus starts to suspect the truth is closer to home than anyone realizes.
