"Was there something about my body I should be worried about? Was it weird?"
Apple Girl describes the inner journey of its protagonist, Nica, as she struggles to make peace with her body and self-image. Due to forms of body shaming by family, friends, and other factors, Nica developed habits that made her hate herself and her body. As Nica realized how unhappy she was, she began to actively change her mindset and ways--she must break the negative views of her form by accepting and loving herself.

Puberty Strikes!
In Slice 3: Poisoned Apple, Nica recalls how puberty changed her body, and how it gained attention from family and schoolmates.
This is when Nica begins to see herself in a dark light, and how these negative views bound her form.
Enough hiding from the mirror! Begone big clothes!
In the final chapter, Nica finally takes the stand to love herself and her "apple" body. At last, Nica is reborn as "Apple Girl," one who fully accepts and cherishes her form as is.
