'The Dice', a neutral bar on a shattered planet overrun with garbage and mercs. A mysterious girl walks in, looking for one of the most feared and powerful mercenaries in all of Sokkath, Crimson. Why is she looking for him? No one knows.
In the foggy streets of Sokkath, where secrets and betrayals are concealed, a dangerous deal is about to unfold. Two of the city's most powerful factions are meeting in the residential district. Among them, hidden in the shadows, a mercenary of questionable reputation watches with keen interest. Is he merely a watcher, or is he another player in this web of intrigue? Only time will tell.
After the attempt to meet the mercenary known as Crimson, Vero hurries through the foggy streets of Sokkath. A series of unfortunate encounters pushes her to her limits, but she finally returns to the place she calls home, hoping for a moment of peace.
What she doesn't expect… is to find someone already waiting inside.
After the mission’s disastrous end, Zephyr is left bewildered by a blue light glowing from his earring. Exhausted and on the edge, he can’t help but fear the worst. What does that mysterious light mean? Is he under attack?
Paralyzed by an unwelcome surprise in her room, Vero finds herself unable to move. A strange sensation runs through her body, one she can’t quite explain. In front of her, the stare of the mercenary with crimson eyes demands answers. Every word she speaks might be the difference between survival… or her death.
As the planet's atmosphere begins to shift to blue, Zephyr is speechless by the real reason Vero has come to find him. Will he accept the mission? Turn it down? Or carry out… the other request she dares to make? For the first time in a long while, money is the only thing that does not matter.
Returning to The Dice. Vero’s contract has been sealed, but the situation doesn't look promising. Sokkath is on the edge of collapse, Zephyr’s body threatens to give in, and Iggdra, far from happy, voices his refusal to follow through with the mission. How will Zephyr react to his ally’s defiance? And how can they even begin to prepare with a mercenary barely able to stand?
Only time will tell.
