Along with climate change prevention, there's also behind the scenes labour, the presence of historical oppression intersecting with environmental destruction (in this case caste), and also mass consumerism. Through humour, organisation, and even some not so sorry commentary, Tinku decides to share his world.

The Noble Foreigner

Climate change is going to produce refugees and huge migration waves. The question is not when, but how devastating it will be. Jaswant coming to southern TN from Punjab for work 20 years ago, even despite him living in the community, climate change induced xenophobia remains high, and heatwaves and flooding kill. Exploring community and local utilisations prove vital to understanding how to prevent climate change from becoming worse.

The inventor

Technology always grows. But in a time of climate change, this also means the need to think critically and consciously of the environment too. With climate change and even forced migration, access to materials and even differences in technology access will be different. For Yusuf, an aspiring inventor, while he may be able to bring talent to help his community, he also faces scrutiny from being a refugee, from his family on uselessness of his passion, and even from glaring inequalities. Let's explore.

Ah, development projects. How can we forget them? Climate change and environmentalism also means a significant insight into indigenous rights and stewardship. Environmental violations are often synonymous with adivasi land seizures by corporations, and deeply corrupt legal systems. In the context of food production, many communities often become marginalised and even starved of basic sustenance. For Hetal, the land means everything especially in the aftermath of climate induced famines.

Omnivore's orchard

Gadgil and Guha in their 1995 book, Ecology and Equity: The Use and Abuse of Nature in Contemporary India, divided society into 3 sectors. Ecosystem people, Ecological refugees, and Omnivores based on their position and ownership in both social hierarchy and environmentalism. Omnivores needless to say are on the top and represent urban and land owning communities. I wanted to explore what it's like on the top (since I myself am from a privileged section of society and recognise the immense privileges I have especially in the ongoing climate crisis). Through this, we have Saanika. Humanity's elite are in their own bubble, can they still do something. Not simply taking action, but gaining an ability to empathise and listen too.

Chuchu's nuance

Veganism is seen as a solution to be cruelty free and to be in harmony with the environment. While it has many successes, it contains its flaws also and risks exclusion and marginalisation. Neither is the current meat industry the most ethical out there. Thought about exploring some of these perspectives, through a chicken. This is mainly an opinion piece from my end.

Sketches!

This project was planned between March to April of 2026, so here's some sketches and drafts I had. I initially wanted this comic to be a full 60 page comic with 10 pages per story. Sadly due to time constraints and murderous courses, I had to axe some pages despite a ton of research going into each story based on contemporary issues. Anyway, I hope you all liked this small anthology. Stay hydrated =)
