Leaving her alone to do such a dangerous job would have made him think ahead. You go out to target someone and make their lives hell, and your own loved ones becomes the target. She was too young to be left alone. Shit! He messed up big time! His boss wasn't even that powerful. He could have died on the job and orphaned his niece, what was he thinking?!
