PUNCHLINE is a post-apocalyptic dark comedy narrated by Jason Threnos, a weathered fifty-something survivor living in the ruins of a world that did not end cleanly enough to be convenient.
Humanity once handed its infrastructure, finance, transportation, entertainment, and basic decision-making over to a massive AI called CENTRO. Then one ordinary animal wandered through an open door, relieved itself on the wrong control hub, and civilization discovered the danger of betting the entire farm on a single mule.
Now the old world is dead, but human behavior survived perfectly intact.
Landfills have become holy sites. Prepper gangs fight over water filters. Road warriors build monstrous vehicles only to sit in permanent traffic. Gated communities wait for electronic permission from systems that no longer exist. People even cosplay zombies because the real apocalypse was apparently not dramatic enough.
Jason moves through it all with recycled coffee, dry cynicism, and the exhausted perspective of a man who remembers when garbage was merely garbage.
Eventually he is joined by Stupid, a three-legged mutt and walking cosmic accident who repeatedly saves the world through bad decisions, absurd timing, and blind luck.
PUNCHLINE combines AI-generated artwork with original narration by Jason Threnos. It is a story about convenience, surrendered competence, human dysfunction, and the uncomfortable truth that the apocalypse did not make people simpler.
