Firefly #1: "Light in the Dark"
Summary: 14-year-old Leo Lopez becomes the superhero Firefly after a strange bug bite in an abandoned lab gives him incredible insect abilities!
Pages 1–5: The Lab & The Bite
Page 1–2: Leo and his friend Marcus sneak into an abandoned Gen-Tech lab. They split up to explore, and Leo enters a room filled with strange terrariums.
Page 3: Leo finds a jar of glowing fireflies next to a warning note: "7 inside. If any are missing, leave immediately." Leo counts only six.
Page 4–5: A glowing firefly crawls up Leo's neck and bites him (ZAP!). Vision fading, Leo faints while Marcus panics.
Pages 6–10: Waking Up & Discovery
Page 6–7: Leo wakes up to his grandma calling him for breakfast, only to realize he is sticking upside-down to his ceiling!
Page 8: His enhanced senses kick in—he hears butter sizzling three rooms away and smells the neighbor burning toast two blocks over.
Page 9–10: He accidentally sneezes, shooting a spray of glowing green acid venom that melts a hole in his mirror.
Pages 11–15: Suit Creation & Falling Out
Page 11–12: At school, Marcus cuts off their friendship, blaming Leo for abandoning him.
Page 13–15: Leo works in his garage to craft his Firefly suit: hardened skin protection, bug-eye vision, antenna sensors, and deployable glider wings.
Pages 16–22: First Heroic Night
Page 16–18: Firefly tests his powers on a rooftop, using super-hearing to spot thieves breaking into a store.
Page 19–20: He glides down, sticks to the alley walls, and uses his venom to dissolve a thief's crowbar before webbing them up for police.
Page 21–22: Firefly escapes into the skyline. Back home, Leo writes in his journal, ready to be a beacon of hope for his city.
