X Meta Mutants - Origin: Sion

The chapter opens years before the present, on a lonely stretch of road under a starlit sky. Marcus Cross, an ordinary man, is seized by a blinding beam and drawn aboard a colossal alien vessel — a ship of the Voraxen, a technologically superior empire. Strapped to a cold examination table, Marcus is experimented on, glowing violet energy forced into his body, his DNA quietly rewritten. When the Voraxen are finished, they discard him — dropping him back to Earth at dawn, dazed, alone, and forever changed.
Marcus returns home to his wife, Helen, who had feared him dead. He never speaks of that night. Life resumes; time passes; Helen becomes pregnant, and the couple welcomes a son they name Ethan. But their joy curdles into dread when the newborn cries — and a thin red laser flickers from his mouth, scorching the ceiling. The Voraxen's experiment did not end with Marcus; it was inherited. Terrified for their child and the world, Marcus and Helen make a vow: no one can ever know.
Ethan grows up smothered in secrecy — taught to breathe, to suppress, to keep the power buried behind a cloth mask. He is isolated and lonely, convinced by his own reflection that he is a monster, no matter how fiercely his mother insists otherwise. By his mid-teens the pressure is unbearable. At Forest High School, bullies corner and humiliate him, and the power he's spent his whole life caging slips its leash — a controlled flash of red that terrifies everyone and gets him suspended.
The ride home is silent and heavy with rain. Inside their house, the confrontation finally breaks: Marcus pleads with his son to control it before someone gets hurt; Ethan, tearful and cornered, insists he never asked for any of this.
