That's what I'm talking about. THIS is the stuff right here. I loved Bane just by reading Knightfall (the first part) but this is contributing to my feelings that he's one of my favorite characters.

I thought of the very good comic. I thought it was interesting that batman and bane worked together to destroy venom

My final read in this series and the only one I flat out do not like. I think Robin's dialogue is fun but beyond that, this was not my Freeze and it was not my Batman. The author doesn't understand Batman and made some ridiculous decisions for Freeze which I can't get over. Won't read it again.

Not bad at all. It was fun and she was likeable, it just felt like the ending was a little abrupt. Maybe I'll feel differently on a re-read and I DO plan to re-read.
YerHuckleberry
Good. Not groundbreaking, but good.

Good charachterization of Penguin, and Umbrella Man made me think of Vic from the MAX series. They almost seem like they could be the same character at two different stages. It's especially interesting considering how this starts and the final episode, (iykyk), but what in the world happened with Batman here? Seemed out of character.

While I wish there was another way it could have ended, I guess that's kind of the point. But I still wonder what the alternative looks like. Regardless, Riddler has really been maturing as a character in the last 20 or so years and this is a great example of how uniquely scary he can be.

Batman should have slept with Wonder Woman, Catwoman is a pass around

@Kaldervallry: facts

The disrespect for Talia here is disgusting and frankly screams racism, though what should I expect from the ex-CIA guy, he's worse than Grant Morrison
JoninSuperSaiyan
the war of jokes and riddles was cool I love the ruthless riddler mass murdering people but it's a but of a let down for me how quickly it all goes down. kite man though....hell....
Kaldervallry
Batman ruined Kite Man's life, what he did to Kite Man is no better than what the Joker did to him when he killed Jason, some hero, he never even apologized
JoninSuperSaiyan
yo wtf bane. dude was hanging dong this whole time? nice bane that all you 😆
JoninSuperSaiyan
ok awesome I love it. been waiting to read this run! city of bane here we come.

Woah. Stuff like this is a big reason I read Batman. I felt really gripped by the character and I could relate to him. I also appreciated the broader conversation within the material. I think the note about his design as "Clay" speaks exactly to what the authors were doing here. It's bright colors and Hollywood, but beneath the surface is pure, classic horror. Perfect.
