While it offered cool ideas, especially regarding Joker's backstory, in an effort to be a realistic take, it lost most of who the characters are. Remove some names and green hair, I'd think this was more likely to be a lesser version of Silence of the Lambs. I don't think this version of Harley is more relatable, and I thought she was all edge and no heart. The black and white sections of the book were phenomenally illustrated though. If there's a sequal, I'll only read it for free and I don't think I'll return to this.
