There are scant few canopbïr who make it to the smoking point, fewer still go past this. Eight are known to exude so much heat that they melt the ice beneath them, exposing the qujra and attracting all manner of life. Most come to feed, some to nest in the canopbïrs forest like feathers. Over time these eight have made individual ecosystems of themselves, as such the killing of these immense beings is forbidden, that and the hordes that would rise to eat them could destroy Lowland civilisation.

Some say canopbïr are The Fathers favorite beasts. They are both predator and prey, recycler and distributor. What stumps and interests scholars to this day is their ability to produce heat. When a canopbïr gains enough size its very breath begins to smoke like a machine. Lowlanders say it sounds like a living tempest, icy and distant no matter how far away it could be.

With no limits you could walk anywhere and wait for it to blow over. But why then would you return?

"They say Highland makes up 92.5% of all land on Irda, that and it is so incredibly flat. Way back then I didn't have the time to truly appreciate the majesty of the fields under the grandeur of Entrobium. Now I hear there are great paths that mark the land, with houses on every road. How fortunate I was to dwell in Lowland for so long, to see the aspirations of men turn to ruin and the ice take back what it lost. Even Spinden, as I was led to it seemed ‘new’- a fortress turned city - like the rest but no longer a bastion, just a place.
