Colors. I have retinitis pigmentosa, which basically means I’m slowly going blind and color blind. I struggle more with seeing color than anything. Right now it’s tolerable, but when it comes to making backgrounds, it’s a tedious and difficult process. I’ve been trying to learn how to desaturate my backgrounds from not being too vibrant, as the world is pretty dull, but then it’s difficult for me to tell if it looks ok.

Hi everyone! I’m Donatello “Donnie” Jones (or my username: DonEffect).

The art, paneling and pacing is a bit rough at first, I admit. But I think I quickly improved.

“GrimWake” follows a trans man named Tobias Garfield. He’s a socially awkward college drop-out. The dropping out wasn’t exactly planned, as he got wrapped up into some supernatural (and traumatic) shenanigans. Oh yeah, and he found out he has a couple of super human abilities, called variants. To try to make something of himself, he joins the local Hero Force. However, it seems that his past of troubled luck still remains to unfold. With new friends and foes along the way, it might just end up that they might be in a major role of something bigger than they ever intended for.

Oh, and the main cast all is some sort of LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent (ASD, ADHD, etc.)
