About

Hello! Aspiring artist/3d animator who's currently experimenting with storytelling via comic form. Has some art classes, but mostly self-taught in 3D modeling. Been working on my first webcomic Friar Chicken since 2020, and started publishing in 2023.

Re: What do you struggle with the most about backgrounds and environments?
This might be too much advice, but I would encourage any artist to try out Blender 3D.
It's very daunting to learn for a novice, but if you learn the hotkeys/navigation/GUI, it can be a valuable asset/resource to use.
If nothing else, you can make some cubes on a plane to simulate an environment and use it as a guide for perspective/scale.
Blender.org and YouTube are good places to start as far as how to use.
(I hadn't updated my own version since ver. 2.7, so plz don't ask me, lol!
There's also no 3d mods in my current comic yet, so if everything looks wonky/off, that's because it is XD)

Re: Introduce Your Comic and You! (Old Thread)
Hiya everyone!

Forgot I been here since September, found out about this site from HeaddyPigeon4180.

1. My creator name is 2DL on here. though my profile says 2DLenzy (oops)
2. My first webcomic is called Friar Chicken
3. https://www.globalcomix.com/c/friar-chicken
4. It's a dramedy focused on a preachy chicken named Friar and a grumpy old CEO Alec Tryon who runs the business of--killing and processing chickens. There's a cast of other characters, both feathered and not, who all add to the fun. There's also a lot of puns, and silliness despite some darker more serious theming centered around chicken welfare, weird cults and frequent troubles that visit the flock. It's a two-sided story that explores both sides of the 'ethics' of mass consumerism and its impact on those who partake in it.
