Asep, a typical high school boy, is woken by his alarm and prepares for school. He meets his friend and protector, Tyler (or "Big Man"). During their walk, a bully insults Asep. Tyler immediately intervenes by grabbing the bully's head, but Asep surprisingly stops him, refusing to elaborate on why he doesn't want Tyler to fight back. Puzzled but compliant, Tyler lets the bully go just as the school bell rings, and the two rush to class.
After a tiring day, they leave school. A bully trips Asep from behind. Asep's wound glows blue, and in a surge of pain and anger, he lashes out at a nearby teacher before running home. His shocked aunt and uncle take him to the hospital, and then return home. At night he was playing games until he lost so out of anger he lifts up a heavy wardrobe! Surprised... Asep realized that he had gained superpowers! And he tested them outside without letting his aunt or uncle know. Until his mother came from work, the exhausted mother that is tired from working told Asep an important speech about his future and how she cares for him and fears if he didn't succeeded. But at midnight, someone texts Asep's mom... After the argument last night Asep went back home to sleep and on the next day Asep's mom apologizes for being too harsh at Asep in the argument last night, Asep doesn't seem to accept it, so after Asep's mom/Selyna went to work Asep is frustrated because of hi suspension so he went to the wrestling match to clear up his mind some, sort of escape to him. Meanwhile we get a look at Selyna's day to day job she is concerned whether her apology is good enough, but a friend of her named Lucy cheers her up, ensuring her apology that she was doing the right thing but later after that a ex boyfriend of Selyna called her, (the unknown caller or texter from issue 1) wants to get back with Selyna but she refuses, but the ex boyfriend or Alex doesn't take it well... So he takes it to his own hands. Back to Asep: after his long shift he wants payment but the manager is looking for the thief that took the money from his safe, the manager knows all if the wrestlers face except for Asep, he gets suspicious of him, so he told Asep to reveal himself, but Asep refuses and runs away with no money in his hands, while on the way home Asep sees his home sorrounded by the police, a murder at happened, the story ends with a cliffhanger with Asep's face shocked.

The killer was hiding in a warehouse cornered by the police until Asep interferes (while using his costume) breaking in the warehouse to fight the murderer by himself (or Alex) until he remembers something from his argument with his mother about second chances from issue 2. To honor his mom he decided to leave the murderer alone. He walks back to his home crying thinking about what he have done, until Tyler met him on the sidewalk and comforted him... Meanwhile the murderer lies unconscious. Until he is kidnapped! Who could be the kidnapper?

After the burial of his mother, Asep lies in his bed thinking the future without his mother, he went out to get food so he can get away from all of this mess, until a magma human/Jacob bursts in to steal money and food (because Jacob is homeless), he apologized for stealing as he went to escape. Asep followed him and fights hime until Asep almost killed him and remember his mother lesson. Jacob question why he didn't kill Jacob. Asep explains it's because he want to honor his mother, and it turns out that Jacob has the same story as Asep. But he killed the murderer that killed his grandmother. He tells Asep to not be like him and use his powers for good, Asep listens to the advice and promised Jacob that he'll use his powers for good, but suddenly, S.H.I.E.L.D interfered to detain Jacob because he was a criminal. Jacob said his goodbyes to Asep and said he deserved it. Same with Asep he said his goodbyes. And now he truly realizes that his power should be used for good, and to save lifes, it's his responsibility as... A hero.

The assignment is about purpose, you have to pick a partner and then learn about their dreams, purpose, and many more. Asep is paired with Gina (to shake things up instead of being with Tyler) as they talk, a school attacker named shockwave burst through the school wall, and is searching for a kid named "Kenzi" everyone in the school ran out and called the police, but for Asep... He suits up in the bathroom to fight Shockwave! Shockwave was holding Kenzi about to kill him until Asep or should I call Spider Z interferes and fights shockwave but he couldn't put up a fight as a rookie. Shockwave was annoyed. So when he finally gets a hold of Spider Z and Kenzi, he almost murdered them until the police shows up, making shockwave stop.

After the police arrived shockwave fights them off, Spider Z tried his best to help but it was no use, as Shockwave looks as he is going to win, he was shot, he retreats and ran away. The principal declared that the students are getting a two week off because of the rebuilding the school walls or preparing the building. Two days later Asep calls Gina to work on the assignment. They learned about each other really well, it seems to spark some kind of friendship.

After working on the Assignment with Asep's partner, Gina, Asep searchs about Shockwave but doesn't find anything... Meanwhile we see Kenzi's point of view, he complains about constant moving from states to states, but his dad Bakito shuts him up (he says is for their safety, (but in true honesty... it's to get away from Shockwave, because Bakito has done horrible things in the past that he did to shockwave and his clan)) and they went on a taxi to an airport to get away from Shockwave once again, until Shockwave discovers that they're escaping away and so Shockwave tracks their Taxi and destroyed the taxi leaving Bakito,and Kenzi with no way to escape. Until Spider Z stops shockwave from killing them and they fought till S.H.I.E.L.D and the police arrived and tried to detain Shockwave, but they failed so as a last resort they threaten to use a weapon (that when fired will explode) to kill Shockwave, but shockwave critizes their usage because of the people around and about how it'll just kill them too. This was also when Shockwave was holding Spider Z hostage until Spider Z questions his purpose. He says that he has no purpose than just killing, and would his family (that Bakito killed in the clan genocide) would even like that he's killing people. This broke shockwave, Spider Z thought he stopped him until Shockwave tried to attack again but he's out of blood and eventually he passed out (when he passed out the police took him for custody). So after that he returned home, he's super tired and really wants to vent to somebody that he trusts about all of this superhero stuff... We cut to two weeks later, after Asep's presentation with Gina and the declaration of their friendship, he showed that he is Spider Z to Tyler, ending the story

A week later later after issue 8, Asep and Tyler talk about how they should get a job to make their mothers proud, to be responsible, and also to fund Asep's heroic act. They plan on what job to pick until they land on Fire News. Asep picked his role as a news photographer and Tyler as a programmer for Fire News's website and also as a uploader. After picking their role Tyler starts to work on their portfolio and resume... Meanwhile, remember Alex from issue 4? He is shown to be locked up in a room with a figure called the "Mad Queen" she proposes a deal and Alex agrees to be a test subject as a super powered bodyguard in exchange for women but the Mad Queen wasn't really clear about her dear which lead to Alex being electrocuted to be the Bodyguard named THUNDER!

A day later after the last issue we see Asep planning to take photos to fill up his portfolio with, But as he is about to take some Gina starts a conversation up with Asep, she mentions about a school anniversary which will be important later on after that he takes as much as possible as Spider Z. After that he calls Tyler, and so Tyler finishes the full portfolio and sends it. They got accepted, but they have to go to an interview first to really get the job. The interview turned out successful for the both of them, and they celebrated it with a dap up ending the issue.
