During the War of the Roses, mercenaries were commonly used as extra support for local armies. A group of Norse-Gaelic Gallowglass mercenaries were hired by a local lord.
Sent out to reinforce a recently captured fortress, they encountered a strange, beautiful woman in the road. As soon as they touched her, the woman's body broke and contorted into a strange creature that attacked them, shrugging off any damage they could inflict. More creatures suddenly appeared, ambushing the mercenaries and decimating their numbers. Left with no other option, The Chief ordered his men to retreat into the very fortress they were sent to protect.
The mercenaries must now band together with the survivors of the fortress if they have any hope of surviving. But what are they even trying to fight?...
