Description
Generations from now, humanity has finally achieved peace. The cost was remembering who we were. Through a neurological process called Reconciliation, society has stripped away the cultural memories believed to fuel generations of hatred and conflict. Languages faded. Traditions lost their meaning. Family histories disappeared. And most people—including nineteen-year-old Mari Reyes—have never questioned what was left behind. Until a piece of forbidden old technology shows Mari something impossible. People she’s never met. Places she’s never been. Words in a language she’s never learned. And a mysterious little girl with a red ribbon who can somehow see her. As Mari searches for answers, she begins uncovering a past her peaceful society was built to forget—and finds herself caught between those who believe humanity was right to let history die and those willing to risk everything to bring it back. Because forgetting may have ended generations of violence. But some things refuse to stay forgotten.
