The Matron

THE MATRON reimagines the slasher through a queer, feminist lens, transforming its masked killer from a faceless embodiment of violence into a terrifying avatar of female rage, inheritance, and revenge. In the rapidly gentrifying Texas town of Ascuas, ambitious criminology student Samantha Maldonado and brilliant anthropology major Roz Krenek, two young queer women divided by a generations-old family feud, find themselves drawn together as a new Matron begins carving a bloody path through the community.
