Flare the Dragon is tired of humans leaving their sacrificial trash on her doorstep. And she certainly doesn't want this tiny blue-haired reject... or does she?
My theory is that the reason his father wouldn't want to talk about his mom, is because it was SA, might be a reach. Just makes sense to me that a demon would do something horrible like that. It could just be he's not proud of loving a demon. just my current theory.

@IcewingImwe: If she is still there when they get home and has a problem with his half blood, Flare can say Ymmereth let him go after examining him. Also that he was the one that repaired the runes while she blocked the fiend.
...this is just like being a half blood prince. Elias gets to choose what to keep. Hope he doesn't choose the darkside like Aniken. Then again this saga could get as large as Dune.
Eli's half demon blood would explain the fiend's distaste for his mana when they were repairing the runes. I think moreso than anything his dad did with his alchemy, unless it was a combination of the two.
