The Daily Life of Mikenchi is a quiet slice-of-life story about a small calico cat wandering through old Tokyo neighborhoods. Inspired by the author's childhood memories of a stray cat named Mikenchi, the series follows small encounters, seasonal details, and ordinary afternoons that feel larger when seen from a cat’s point of view. ----- About Mikenchi & Gamu Blocks: Hello there! It's Gamu Blocks. I'd like to share some context about The Daily life of Mikenchi. Growing up, I was never allowed to have a pet cat, even though I always wanted one. So I started writing tiny notes in my notebooks, almost like a diary, about a stray cat who lived in my neighborhood. He was a chubby calico with short legs and a few scars on his face, probably from fighting other cats. He wandered everywhere. Sometimes he would disappear for several days, then come back with a different expression, as if he had been to more places and seen more things than I ever had. I named him Mikenchi. This story is inspired by him, and by the fading memories of my childhood.
