Winsor is a cartoonist working for The Times newspaper in the 1920s and is struggling to come up with an idea for a comic strip. While in a diner, a middle age waitress encourages Winsor and suddenly he comes up with a comic strip. Winsor continues to struggle to find ideas and realizes the waitress is the one who is always able to inspire him. He confronts her and what happens next is.........
